Diaspora with client side encryption
I’ve written about Diaspora before, a social network (Facebook replacement?) that is decentralized, and cares (more) about privacy. If you’re interested to learn more, there’s a What is Diaspora? site. Also, you can post to twitter or Facebook from within Diaspora.
I noticed tonight that Justin Thomas mentioned in #privacy that he has implemented client-side encryption to make it even better (encrypting your messages to others using the system), and is looking for people to test it out. If you’re a techy who likes to live on the edge and support the community:
- Create an account on the https://ser.endipito.us pod.
- Go to Settings -> Privacy -> (at the bottom) Manage Keys – That’s it!
If you’re simply interested in trying out a Diaspora, send me your email address and I’ll send you an invite.
